African Kata Championships 2024 in Cairo: Egypt and Algeria win Gold

South Africa, Algeria and Egypt battled it out for titles in the African Kata Championships 2024 in Cairo. Egypt and Algeria excelled in winning gold.

Katame No Kata: Egypt won the contest with a total of 442.5 points. The pair of ABDEL RAHMAN Osama and ABDELRADY Mohamed won the gold medal. Finishing in second and third place, the pairs MALHERBE Tegan and BILLSON Billieleigh of South Africa totalled 435.5 points and the tandem GREYLING Liebe and PRETORIUS Philip 413.0 points respectively.

Goshin Jutsu: Algeria with the couple KACHER Kahina and SMAH Saïd finished in first place with 481.0 points overall. In second place, the couple IBRAHIM Magdi and ABDELWAHED Belal from Egypt with 475.5 points. The other Egyptian team composed of ABOULELA Ayman and KANDIL Samir totals 204.5 points.

Kime No Kata: Egypt composed of ELOKAZY Ahmed and HAMMAD Ahmed wins this competition with 541.0 points ahead of the tandem ZEMMOURI Hacene and ZAABAT Abdelhalim of Algeria with 536.5 points and Egypt who also secured the third place with the couple ABDELRAHMAN Khalad and AHMAD Hossameldin who totaled 529.0 points.

Nage No Kata: HALOUL Ahmed and ALHARON Mohamed of Egypt win the medal with a total of 427.0 points. PRETORIUS Philip and Van SCHALKWYK Vincent of South Africa took second place with 417.0 points and Egypt also took third place with SALAMA Ali and MOSTAFA Hisham with 379.5 points.
