The referees plays an important role in competitions. Tunis Open 2023 has been an opportunity for the African Judo Union to host a seminar to deepen their knowledge of the referees who will be responsible for refereeing in the local, regional and international. The director in chief of the African Judo Union, Ababacar Ngom and the director of referee, Khaled Anwar have led a refereeing seminar in the national dojo of the Tunisian Judo Federation on the 8th of march 2023. An event that coincides with the International women's day and Ababacar Ngom has not miss to congratulate and to encourage the 10 women referee participating in the course development

This seminar is an opportunity for the African referees to become familiar and to study in depth and also to gain counseling and knowledge regarding the latest version which highlights the clarification of the arbitration rules applied since January 31, 2023. It is also a taste of the major IJF seminar to be held in Coimbra, Portugal on March 18 and 19.
