Morocco asserted itself by winning 2 gold medals, while Algeria, Tunisia, and Guinea shared the 3 other gold medals of the first day.
A competition day that brought together judokas from five categories: -48kg, -52kg, -57kg for women, and -60kg and -66kg for men. Many judokas, aiming to earn points for Olympic qualification, offered us high-quality fights. Most of the matches ended in golden score. Several countries stood out by winning gold, silver, or bronze medals to secure their spot on the podium. While Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Guinea took home the gold, South Africa made it to the final of the -57kg category and secured the silver medal. Cape Verde won a silver medal, and Angola claimed three silver medals. It was an emotionally charged first day filled with exciting performances.
